A DAINTY SUMMER MODEL
Knitted In A Simple, Effective Lace Stitch
THIS charming little jumper is designed to fit a 33-35 in. bust measurement, and wool in a pastel shade of pink or blue would be delightful.
Materials.- 6 ozs. of 3-ply knitting wool. A pair each of No. 10 and 12 “Str??n?id” knitting needles. Two buttons.
Measurements.- Length from shoulder to lower edge, 18 ½ inches. Width all round at underarms, 33 inches, stretching to 35 inches. Sleeve seam, 3 ½ inches.
Tension.- 7 sitches in width and 9 rows in depth to one inch.
Abbreviations.- K. = knit ; p. = purl ; tog. = together ; wl.fwd. = wool forward ; rep. = repeat ; ptn. = pattern ; sts. = stitches; inc. = increase or increasing ; dec. = decrease or dedreasing ; rem. = remaining ; cont. = continue.

Work in k. 1, p. 1 ribbing for 15 rows.
Cast off, still working in the rib.
The Front Neckband.-
Using No. 12 needles and with right side of work facing, join wool at one shoulder, and knit up 111 sts. round neck to second shoulder.
1st row.-* K. 1, p. 1, rep. from * ending k. 1.
2nd row.-Inc. in the first st., * k. 1, p. 1, rep. from * to last 2 sts., k. 1, inc. in last st.
Rep. the second row 5 times more.
8th row.-Inc. in first st., rib 6 sts., cast off 6 sts. for buttonhole, rib to last 13 sts., cast off 6 sts., rib to last st., inc. in last st.
9th row.-K. 2 tog., rib 6 sts., cast on 6 sts., rib to cast-off sts., cast on 6 sts., rib to last 2 sts., p. 2 tog.
Working into backs of cast-on sts. on first row only, cont. in rib for 6 more rows, dec. at both ends of every row.
Cast off, still working in the rib.
TO COMPLETE JUMPER
Omitting all ribbing, press work lightly on wrong side. Stitch side and sleeve seams and stitch sleeves into position. Attach a button on to each end of back neckband (1 in. in from the ends), to correspond with buttonholes on the front.
