Instructions

GAUGE: Working in sc, 4 sts and 4 rows = 1 inch.
Special Stitches:
  • Rounds: When working in rounds, do not join. Place marker at end of first round. Move marker at end of each round.
  • Single crochet 2 together: 2 scs tog: Pull up a lp in first sc and in next sc, yarn over and draw yarn through all lps on hk.
DIRECTIONS:
HEAD AND BODY (make two):
  1. Head: Round 1: With off-white yarn, ch 2, work 6 scs in second ch from hk.
  2. Round 2: Work 2 scs in each sc around: 12 scs.
  3. Round 3: * Sc in next st, work 2 scs in next sc; repeat from * around: 18 scs.
  4. Round 4: Sc in each sc around: 18 scs.
  5. Round 5: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs in next sc; repeat from * around: 24 scs.
  6. Rounds 6-9: Sc in each sc around: 24 scs.
  7. Round 10: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around: 18 scs.
  8. Round 11: Sc in each sc around: 18 scs.
  9. Round 12: * Sc in next sc, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around: 12 scs.
  10. Round 13: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around (this is the neck of the bunny): 9 scs. Stuff head.
  11. Body: Round 1: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs in next sc; repeat from * around: 12 scs.
  12. Round 2: * Sc in next st, work 2 scs in next sc; repeat from * around: 18 scs.
  13. Round 3: Sc in each sc around: 18 scs.
  14. Round 4: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs in next sc; repeat from * around: 24 scs.
  15. Rounds 5-11: Sc in each st around: 24 scs.
  16. Round 12: * Sc in each of next two scs, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around: 18 scs.
  17. Round 13: Sc in each st around, join with sl st to first sc, ch 1. Do not fasten off: 18 scs.
  18. Bottom: Row 1: Sc in same st as joining and sc in each of next 8 sts, ch 1, turn.
  19. Row 2: Sc in each of next 3 scs, work 2 scs tog, sc in last 3 scs, ch 1, turn.
  20. Row 3: Work 2 scs tog, sc across to last 2 sts, work 2 scs tog. Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff body firmly and sew opening closed.
LEG (make four):
  1. Round 1: With off-white yarn, ch 2, work 6 scs in second ch from hk: 6 scs.
  2. Round 2: Work 2 scs in each st around: 12 scs.
  3. Rounds 3-10: Sc in each sc around, do not fasten off: 12 scs.
  4. Round 11: Stuff leg firmly. Flatten leg and bring open edges together; work 6 scs, working through sts on both sides to close leg: 6 scs.
  5. Ch 1, turn; work 1 sc in back loops only of each sc, then work 1 sc in front loops only of each sc: 12 scs.
  6. Rounds 12-16: Sc in each sc around: 12 scs. Fasten off at end of Round 16, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff leg and sew opening closed.
ARM (make four):
  1. Round 1: With off-white yarn, ch 2, work 6 scs in second ch from hk: 6 scs.
  2. Round 2: Sc in next st, work 2 scs in next sc, sc in next 2 sts, work 2 scs in next st, sc in next st: 8 scs.
  3. Rounds 3-8: Sc in each sc around: 8 scs.
  4. Round 9: Stuff arm firmly. Flatten arm and bring open edges together; work 4 scs, working through sts on both sides to close arm: 4 scs.
  5. Ch 1, turn; work 1 sc in back loops only of each sc, then work 1 sc in front loops only of each sc: 8 scs.
  6. Rounds 10-12: Sc in each st around: 8 sts. Fasten off at end of Round 12, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff arm and sew opening closed.
CHEEK PUFF (make four):
  1. Round 1: With off-white yarn, ch 2, work 5 scs in second ch from hk: 5 scs.
  2. Round 2: Work 2 scs in each sc around: 10 scs.
  3. Round 3: * Sc in next four sts, work 2 scs in next st; repeat from * around: 12 scs.
  4. Round 4: Sc in each st around: 12 scs.
  5. Round 5: * Sc in next sc, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around: 8 scs. Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff cheek puff.
TAIL (make two):
  1. Round 1: With off-white yarn, ch 2, work 6 scs in second ch from hk: 6 scs.
  2. Round 2: Work 2 scs in each st around: 12 scs.
  3. Round 3: * Sc in next 3 sts, work 2 scs in next st; repeat from * around: 15 scs.
  4. Rounds 4-5: Sc in each st around: 15 scs.
  5. Round 6: * Sc in next st, work 2 scs tog; repeat from * around: 10 scs. Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff tail.
NOSE (make two):
  1. Round 1: With pink yarn, ch 2, work 5 scs in second ch from hk.
  2. Round 2: Work 2 scs in each st around: 10 scs.
  3. Round 3: Sc in each st around: 10 scs.
  4. Round 4: Work 2 scs tog around: 5 scs. Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn. Stuff nose.
EAR:
  1. Inside (make four): With pink yarn, ch 18, sl st in each of first 2 chs, work 1 sc in each of next 5 chs, work 1 hdc in each of next 5 chs, work 1 dc in each of 5 chs, work 5 dcs in last ch, work­ing in other side of ch, work 1 dc in each of next 5 chs, work 1 hdc in each of next 5 chs, work 1 sc in each of next 5 chs, sl st in each of last 2 chs. Fasten off.
  2. Outside (make four): Follow instructions for inside ear, using off-white yarn instead. Do not fasten off.
  3. Place one off-white and one pink ear wrong sides together with edges matching. With off-white yarn, sc in each st around to tip; work 3 scs in center dc at tip, work 1 sc in each st around to end. Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn.
  4. Repeat for remaining ears.
OVERALLS (make one): With blue yarn, ch 29, work 1 sc in second ch from hk and in each ch across, join with sl st to form a ring: 28 scs.
  1. Round 1: Ch 1, work 1 sc in same st, work 1 sc in each of next 27 scs: 28 sts.
  2. Round 2: Sl st in first 3 sts at beginning of row; work 1 sc in each of next 22 scs, ch 6, sk next 6 sts and join with sc to first sc to make opening for tail.
  3. Round 3: Work 1 sc in each st and ch around: 28 scs.
  4. Rounds 4-5: Work 1 sc in each st around: 28 scs.
  5. Round 6: Work 1 sc in each of next 22 sts, work 1 hdc in each of next 6 sts, join with sl st in first st of round. Fasten off.
  6. Leg: Round 1: With right side facing, join matching yarn in fourth hdc of Round 6, work 1 sc in each of next 14 sts, ch 2 for crotch: 16 sts.
  7. Rounds 2-7: Work 1 sc in each st around: 16 scs.
  8. Round 8: Work 1 sc in each of next 8 sts, work 1 hdc in each of next 8 sts: 16 sts.
  9. Rounds 9-14: Work 1 sc in each st around: 16 scs. Join with sl st in first sc and fasten off at end of Row 14.
  10. With the right side facing, join matching yarn in the other loop of first ch-2 of crotch, sc in each st around. Then work Rounds 1-14 to make other leg of overalls, working hdcs in Round 8 in front of leg as before.
  11. Bib: With right side facing, attach matching yarn with sl st in the third st to the right of the center front of overalls.
  12. Rows 1-4: Sc in each of next 7 sts, ch 1, turn: 7 scs. At end of Row 4, ch 12; cross ch over to opposite side of center back and attach ch to top of overalls with a sc. Fasten off.
  13. Join yarn to other corner of bib with sl st, ch 12, cross ch over to opposite side of center back and attach ch to top of overalls with a sc. Fasten off.
SKIRT (make one):
  1. Round 1: With rose yarn, ch 29, work 1 sc in second ch from hk and in each ch across, join with sl st to form a ring: 28 scs.
  2. Round 2: * Dc in next sc, work 2 dcs in next sc; repeat from * around: 42 dcs.
  3. Round 3: Dc in each st around: 42 dcs.
  4. Round 4: * Dc in each of next 14 dcs, work 2 dcs in next dc; repeat from * around: 45 dcs.
  5. Rounds 5-6: Dc in each dc around: 45 dcs.
  6. Edging: Round 1: * Work 1 sc in next dc, drawing loop out to 1 in., ch 2 in top of extended loop; repeat from * around; join with sl st in first sc.
  7. Round 2: On right side, sl st in each sc around to prevent rolling. Fasten off.
  8. Bib: Follow the overall bib instructions, attaching matching yarn with sl st to any beginning ch of skirt.
SHAWL (make one):
  1. Row 1: With pink yarn, ch 28, sc in second ch from hk, * ch 5, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch; repeat from * to end of ch, ch 1, turn: 13 ch-5 sps.
  2. Row 2: Sl st to center of next ch-5 sp, ch 1, sc in same ch-5 sp, * ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp; repeat from * across to last ch-5 sp of previous row, ch 1, turn.
  3. Repeat Row 2 until one ch-5 sp remains.
  4. Edging: Round 1: Sl st to center of next ch-5 sp; * work 1 sc, drawing loop out to 1 in., ch 2 in top of extended loop; repeat from * around, working in each ch-5 sp and in every other starting ch; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
FINISHING:
  1. Stitch sewn end of two legs along seam of flap at bottom of each body. Sew a tail to center back of each about 1 in. above leg seam. Stitch sewn end of an arm to each side of each body just below neck.
  2. Referring to photo for placement, sew two cheek puffs and a nose to front of each head and ears to tops of heads.
  3. Slip overalls onto a rabbit with straps crossed in back. Slip tail through opening in back.
  4. Dress other rabbit with skirt, crossing straps in back. Drape shawl over rabbit’s shoulders as shown in photo. Attach shawl to rabbit with matching yarn.
  5. Use flat paintbrush and black to add two eyes to each head as shown in photo. Let dry.
  6. Bend bows of doll eyeglasses to fit curve of heads. Add a pair of glasses to each rabbit, inserting ends of bows into stuffing. Tack bows to heads with matching yarn or glue the bows to the head if desired.
  7. Perch your bunnies in an Easter basket and enjoy!
CROCHETED BUNNY PATERN – FINISHED SIZE: Each rabbit measures about 9 inches tall x 6 inches across.
